Did you catch the leaked unclassified Home Land Security report on Right-Wing Extremists? I think the hoopla (especially in the blogosphere) was a bit over the top considering the language in the document.
CADIE is Now Online
Many of you already know about CADIE (Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity) which has been in the testing stage for several years. Today, scientists were confident enough to enable the first self-aware computer to see which would be the first tasks that it (she, I guess) would accomplish.
Links N’ Junk: Conspiracy Theories
I was just watching a movie that forced me to research creepy stuff which was irksome enough to allow me to create a Links N’ Junk totally obsessed focused on conspiracies. The creepy thing isn’t so much that I’m linking to this stuff; rather the fact that some of this is actually official documents on government websites and news articles that didn’t make a blip on the public radar.
Don’t lambaste me for this; I just managed to squeeze a post out of that movie.

The group of late high-school age boys yelled from behind my place in the line across to the emptying theater. Minutes before they were snickering at the huge crowd saying things like “check out the seventh graders” and “For all the people who have to be home by ten.”

United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights
The original is located here. This is a long post without much commentary but it’s definitely worth reading seeing what the UN considers Children’s Rights. The Arabic States noted some of the language in regard to the Child’s right to religion and ratified it on their signing. Other countries noted the language about a child’s right to life after and before birth and ratified the language there as well. The US has yet to sign or ratify.
