Oh no doubt, I'm in agreement with you that many people look at Christianity as sci-fi or myth. That's part of the reason I don't like the Left Behind series because they are, like you said, making it all fiction. I hope I was establishing (as C.S. Lewis) that the kicker with Christianity is that any real examination will leave someone rejecting it because of an a priori perception or admitting that there is a definite ring of truth to it.

Ooopsie. Made a coding error in the first comment, but I guess it's obvious where the italics are supposed to end.

Rey, thanks for the detailed response. (I've had little time for blogging, reading or writing, until this morning and I just now read your post.)

I wanted to mention that my perception that some people see Christianity as a sci-fi fantasy is based on a personal experience. I'm not a Trekkie, and I once chided a former co-worker for taking Star Trek "too seriously." His response was something like "Hey, I know it's not real ... you, on the other hand, really believe that Christianity stuff."

<i>>I am altogether relying on Christ; let God figure out how the future pans out.

I've found that when it gets down to brass tacks, most of the time we Christians agree on the really important stuff. I guess, as they say, the devil is in the details. ;)
