Web Design: Game On 2007

gameon_01_t.png

My buddy’s client was looking for a website that would allow them to showcase their Wrestling skins for the Xbox, PS2(and 3) and the Wii. Partway through the project they wanted it to be a store with a newsletter function (that collects emails without collecting age or address). Willing to comply I did that as well as putting in an image randomizer for the sidebar and the header (no, I don’t have a clue what Cena is doing).

Oh, sure, it’s pretty and all but what’s under the hood? Seriously though… I am curious how you’re handling the storefront aspect of the site. As well as what software you used to put the site together(not necessarily the graphics, piece). If it’s a trade secret the just shoo me away.

Yup, Brian that’s where the bread and butter was on this site: it’s using OScommerce, tweaked like mad to allow things like purchasing without an account and Paypal Integration. It was a toss up between that and ZenCart but I’ve never used ZenCart so I went with OSC. I’m working on another webstore and starting using ZenCart and it has really nice features and a similair interface.

Looks good! I wish I had some web design chops, I’ve always imagined that it’s a fun way to make a living.

I think what Cena is doing is showing us the grade-level he reads at.
