Boston cool, definitely cultural. My best New Year's Eve was spent on the main road with the train tracks in the middle of the street, going from one event to another. The town became one giant open house, with string quartets in one building, a film festival in another, museum exhibits, and eventually at the end of the road fireworks by the old, old ships.
