Kid Surfing

When my son comes home, after completing his homework and before dinner he is allowed to choose between TV and the Computer: he often opts for the computer. The other day he’s doing his usual Playhouse Disney (having been bored with the Noggin site for two weeks). While sitting there reading and hearing him playing, I then hear him just typing. A bit nervous I get up to see what he’s doing I get up to see what he’s doing…

He’s in google searching for “vidyo games”. Needless to say he’s gotten a long speech of never leaving the sites we put him on and I’m in the process of putting on some filters on the browser he uses.

  1. The girls(8 & 6) have their own account on the home computer with limited privs so they don’t accidentally install something or delete Quicken or something like that.

I’ve been thinking I need to get some kind of whitelist software to keep them on the sites we want them on. Let me know if you come across something good and I’ll do the same.

    Peace.
