Yesterday’s post consisted of things that Sy banged out without much more than five minutes of thought. Essentially, they were creative outlets for his random insanity. I also wanted to post some of his endeavors which he did take time to think about, and even wrote a second (neater) draft to get it right.
What you’ll see are two poems: one in verse and one in prose.
(Intro)
The tiny cricket on the log
Chirping happily
It did not know how to escape
Very Angry Me.
(Cricket)
Can I escape, he wondered
In the very tall tree
There he goes, here he comes
To capture tiny me.
Oh no! he said, what can I do!
He’s climbing up the tree!
I escape and jump away
From this very loathsome tree
Over the bog and on the log
He’s chasing after me
Over the hog, over the frog
Running after me.
I hide inside a mouse’s houle
Without him catching me
Here I am safe and sound
Under the tallest tree.
Corduroy is the best buddy ever!!! I love him so much because he is so cuddly and cute. His voice is soft and is like little birdies tweeting softly in an apple tree.
Corduroy is interested in learning many things. He loves reading textbooks with me so that one day he can become a rebel pilot. He has already learned to be a Jedi, but now he is focusing on becoming a pilot with his big sister, Susan.
Before we go to sleep we do pilot class together. Sometimes Corduroy falls fast asleep during class but he is listening because of The Force. After class I am really tired too so I lay down with Corduroy, my best friend.
