i was happily surprised with the results especially since this was right out of the box without following a demo and doing minor voice training.
You should just do a podcast…
I’ve only got 512 RAM; do you have 1 GB? Will it run on 512 or should I spring for the extra? It might be worth $200 or so (memory + software) since I’ll be using this to dictate session notes.
Yeah Mike, I have over over a gig of ram since i do a lot of photoshop work but the programs requirements seem to allow for working at 512 (though I tend to think that if a person is running XP they’ll need the extra 512 anyway).
I think it’s worth it especially if you’re dictating session notes. It even has an option (that I haven’t played with yet) of transcribing audio files (which I imagine is like if you’re dictating into a recorder and put the file on your computer it’ll convert it to a text format).
Do you have the standard version or the plus?
BTW, thanks for fielding all my questions.
Oh no problem, doc. I’m trying out the Preferred Version ( http://nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/preferred/ ) which is $199. The Standard is $99 but it doesn’t seem to include voice training which I think is extremely usefull.

What software is it?
Hey Mike/Finrod.
It’s Dragon’s (now Nuance’s) Naturally Speaking.
