The Tranquil Dogwood Tree: Note the unmowed square plot of lawn immediately beneath the tree.
Sy Triumphant: Armed with bat and ready to do battle.
Momma Bird exceedingly nervous.
Probably a picture during my running. Of course, I couldn’t capture any pictures of the baby bird lest I would suffer a huge pecking attack.
From inside of my house, looking up at the roof where Momma perched in glaring anger.
Yeah, I don’t have any mid-battle photos. My photographer had her hands occupied with my daughter and my hands were occupied with frantic flailing.

OK, your son is growing up ridiculously fast since you moved. That can’t be the same little kid that was running around at Jerry’s wedding.
I see your dilemma now with the tree…looks like you already have a foot of soil around it but it’s wide with low branches. Maybe in a few months when the Robin family move to a Winter home you can trim some of the lower branches. I think they’ve successfully claimed that square for the Summer. ;)
Yeah like MCF said, trim the lower branches when you can. We had one of our trees trimmed this past winter because the branches were too low.
[…] Pictures, of course, to come here. […]
I’m impressed with the sharpness of the robin.
Good job.
That’s from the relative safety of a 12x zoom too. Thanks Jim.
