Another winter, another season of American Idol. I can’t stand this show that invariably draws me in from another room in the house and forces me to hate and love some of the performers. I mean honestly, I’m so done with this show taking away valuable script writing time (okay, someone wrote in and the answer is No, I am NOT writing a script. I’ve been writing two books, but no scripts. Unfortunately sometimes I treat my blog like an email so I type what’s on my mind and what I meant was taking away valuable hours from the Script Writers–who write for actual shows–time)<\/strong> but since the way of American Television is heading down the Yellow Dumb Road I might as well say my picks.<\/p>\n


\nDavid Archuleta, something like 16 years old, probably has the most sincere performances and clearest singing voice on the show. He’s still maturing so that shows some promise for later years but if he wins the show, I would not be surprised. Check this performance and be amazed.<\/p>\n

I wouldn’t be surprised if David Cook makes it pretty far. The guy has a fair amount of likeability and does Bon Jovi right (unlike some other folk-no matter what their drunken applauders think)<\/p>\n

I don’t think Aussie Michael Johns will win but this performance of Bohemian Rhapsody was outstanding.<\/p>\n

The girls this year, though pretty, are forgettable but since probably one of them will have to go to the final I’ll pick Carly Smithson since they’ve gotta recoup their money on her<\/a>:<\/p>\n
