{"id":664,"date":"2008-10-23T21:17:45","date_gmt":"2008-10-24T02:17:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rreynoso.com\/blog\/reviews\/kath-kim-fun-and-likely-cancelled\/"},"modified":"2008-10-23T21:40:24","modified_gmt":"2008-10-24T02:40:24","slug":"kath-kim-fun-and-likely-cancelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rreynoso.com\/reysapoint\/reviews\/kath-kim-fun-and-likely-cancelled\/","title":{"rendered":"Kath &amp; Kim: Fun and Likely Canceled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spoilers after the jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> <\/p>\n<p>Molly Shannon (Kath) plays a single mom who has her recently estranged and wildly ego-centric daughter Kim (Selma Blair) living with her during the extent of her so-called wildly public divorce.<\/p>\n<p>Kim is obnoxious, focused on celebrities, totally into herself and ultimately clueless about everybody else&#8217;s needs&#8211;except with moments of insight between her and her mother.<\/p>\n<p>The unlikely duo is surprisingly perfect with their interactions, their sudden shift of gears from Mother-Daughter to Best Friends. <\/p>\n<p>Ultimately though, I think the show is doomed to failure. Selma Blair&#8217;s commentary on modern girls is so dead on that I doubt it&#8217;d get much steam with today&#8217;s current ego-centric generation.
