We get to meet the future Mrs. Bauer (if she survives this season with an intact jugular or a bullet in her gullet after betraying the feds). I enjoy that CTU has been removed from the picture (so to speak—they’re a radical pseudo-political grass-roots anti-terrorism group) so that we get that original nervousness by being in a possibly corrupt agency. I love that Jack has a snazzy pouch that he’s been sporting and I love that Mrs. Bauer is embracing her inner Jack as the story progresses. I also think its interesting that Mrs. President sounds like Bush (even down to facial expressions) though she doesn’t look hokey. Best line in the season thus far had to be Chloe’s “I’m not an FBI Agent; I’m a stay-at-home-mom.” Good season opener with great cliff-hangers promising a fun fast-paced season even if later episodes featured some standing around and the same annoying clunky recaps (ie “Jack why did you shoot me and bury me alive?” when this just happened 15 minutes ago and she played along to stay alive)

Battlestar Galactica

Depressing. Utterly depressing. Now it was good, yes, but when the last Half-Season ended we were in dire straits. The Cylons and the Human Survivors had found Earth (?) that’s been decimated by nuclear explosions. We find out that the final Cylon was one of the two characters I had already thought as likely though I was sure it was Mr. Original Apollo but what are you gonna’ do. Everyone on the crew is going insane, Kara discovered that she’s been recreated (by God?) and Dee, after a lovely evening with her ex-husband, smiles and blows her brains out. After that uplifting episode, the following episode didn’t do much for our heart with Madam President giving up on her meds, Whiney-Gimp-Gaeta deciding to aid in the Revolution and Gaius Baltar no longer caring about God or humanity. Decent season opener with promising future but utterly depressing.

Lost

This was the biggie. Not only is the show moving faster now that we have an official ending time frame but they’re answering an absurd amount of questions while plunging viewers further down the rabbit hole. By this time everyone knows they’ve embraced the Time Travel story line (that they denied ever doing in the earlier seasons) but in a fantastic way. The Island is Lost in Time, Jack and his crew our Lost without the Island and Desmond is likely Losing his mind on account of his traveling. You gotta’ love Abrams. Everything about this season opener was great from Hurley’s mom wondering why there was a dead Iraqi on her couch and Ana Lucia (looking very feminine) pulling Hurley over and chastising him for his stupidity to John Locke talking to timeless Richard who has just handed him a Very Mysterious Compass.

“What is it?”

“A Compass, John.”

“What does it do?”

“It points North John.”

American Idol

Funny people trying to sing. Good looking new judge who has a (funny) penchant of breaking out in song with the people singing. That makes her exceedingly enjoyable to me.

[7
261,161,171,68,116
post-712","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-reviews","tag-261","tag-american-idol","tag-battlestar","tag-lost","tag-tv
["GET
