I just want to document the thoughts and feelings I had before, during and after watching the movie. This post <strong>does<\/strong> contain <strong>spoilers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>9:50 PM  \u201cI can\u2019t believe X-Men isn\u2019t playing anymore. I hate this state. Ugh, the original Superman was so cheesy\u2014this movie is gonna\u2019 stink.\u201d Mood: apathy<\/li>\n<li>10:00 PM \u201cIt is nice to pay under 9 bucks for a movie. Especially one that\u2019s gonna stink.\u201d Mood: Casual Disregard.<\/li>\n<li>10:05 PM \u201cWhy do they keep talking about Digital Movies instead of showing the Vice Trailer?\u201d Mood: Annoyed.<\/li>\n<li>10:11 PM \u201cJack Sparrow\u2014that movie is a must-see.\u201d Mood: Excitement.<\/li>\n<li>10:12 PM \u201cThese trailers definitely have a kiddish feel to them\u2014not a good sign\u201d Mood: Cautious.<\/li>\n<li>10:15 PM \u201cOh, God\u2014the original credits. This is going to be horrid.\u201d Mood: Disgust<\/li>\n<li>10:16 PM \u201cWhy am I feeling like that? The graphics seem to be getting better and the score is similar to the original but with some new flare. It\u2019s almost like when I first saw Superman 2\u2026\u201d Mood: Bordering Excitement. Nostalgic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">End Time Tracking, Enter Fuzzy Order<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cAh, so no reference to Superman 3 or 4\u2014thank God.\u201d Mood: Joy.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOh please tell me they\u2019re not retelling the origin story\u2014wait? Mrs. Kent is way too old\u2026and alone\u2026 This is\u2026different.\u201d Mood: Mild interest<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSo he either managed to get his lil\u2019 spaceship up and working again or Batman lent him a hand\u2026? I doubt they\u2019ll explain that.\u201d Mood: Cynical.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGoodness, Superman feeling lonely is going to be an annoying theme in the movie if they\u2019re throwing it in so chunky here. But, I do like how that speaks volumes about his relationship with Bats\u2014I wonder if there will ever be a sweet Miller Batman movie with a \u2018bad\u2019 Supes.\u201d Mood\u2014Pity followed by Introspection.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMan, the way they keep hitting us over the head with this father \u2013 son junk I expect 2 things to happen: Lois to have Supes\u2019 kid and him to be crucified and rise again. Cheese.\u201d Mood: Mild Annoyance.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cLuther\u2019s elaborate plan to get a house consisted of scamming a little old lady? Ugh, there\u2019s no way that Spacey took this role to play the Hackman Luthor.\u201d Mood: Disgust.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNice. He went back to the fortress and he remembers everything! This Luthor has potential.\u201d Mood: Rockin\u2019 Out.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cUgh! He\u2019s got a bimbette! My money on her pulling the same junk as the chick in the first movie.\u201d Mood: Disgust.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cPrometheus a god? I could\u2019ve sworn he was a man or a Titan. Well, I guess since he created men he might be perceived as a god. Ironic though, since Prometheus thought little of the gods\u2014how Luthor thinks little of Superman&#8230;\u201d Mood: Introspective.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAnd there\u2019s Lois\u2019 kid. He is so Clarks\u2019. The dude is definitely going to get crucified.\u201d Mood: Pity.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHeh\u2026his hand fell in the water. There\u2019s potential for a sequel. Take that guy, have some of the crystal junk fuse with the minerals in his body, kill him (so he can go into a gestation stasis) and you have a nice recipe for Doomsday.\u201d Mood: Interest<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSweet, he stepped back. Cowardly enough to give Hackman Luthor a nod but smart enough to show that he\u2019s thinking at least one step ahead. Or five back, rather.\u201d Mood: Jabba-ish<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAwesome\u2014the wing came apart! I love it when Physics affects Superman\u2019s abilities. Physics. Heh heh.\u201d Mood: Jabba-ish (That\u2019s that opulent chuckle that Jabba the Hutt does whenever he says something nasty.)<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMan, too bad I saw this scene on SpikeTV. Still cool though.\u201d Mood: Bittersweet<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThey did a good job making him muscular in costume and darkish as Clark.\u201d Mood: Complimentary.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHeh heh\u2014he really cut the brake lines. Awesome.\u201d Mood: Pride followed by Surprise and the thought \u201cWhy Pride?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAnd there\u2019s the Kryptonite shard that will pierce Superman. Only one shard\u2014not enough for a crucifixion\u2014they\u2019ll pierce his side.\u201d Mood: Sigh.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSuperman\u2019s a perv. Heh heh.\u201d Mood: Jabbaish.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThey\u2019ll never hook up. That husband is way too nice. But that\u2019s definitely his kid\u2014despite the Asthma. Heck, Clark wore glasses once. Good thing they didn\u2019t kiss though.\u201d Mood: Respectful followed by Interest and \u201cSince he\u2019s a half-breed I wonder if he\u2019ll have all of Clark\u2019s powers and weaknesses. I mean, the Yellow sun thing is genetic so the kid might have some of that\u2014but would Kryptonite kill him? I mean, Kal-El would get nailed by the thing but the stuff really doesn\u2019t affect humans. There\u2019s potential there for like a future sequel\u2014hopefully darker. Like Superman Beyond.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cA Land mass? He\u2019s after real estate? Again? Yeesh, they have all the makings of a great villain and they keep going back to that junk.\u201d Mood: Pity mingled with Creative Sorrow.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAnd this is the point where he\u2019ll lose his asthma and do something super.\u201d Mood: Dissatisfied followed by \u201cAnd there goes the asthma pump.\u201d Followed by \u201cHe apologizing for killing the guy, using his powers or not being able to summon his powers to open the door? Meh\u2014don\u2019t think it matters. I doubt they\u2019ll use the kid for anything ridiculously major\u2014like flying or fighting anyone. This purely establishes the connection while setting up his adopted father as a legitimate Superman in his own right.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAwesome, this is the first time they\u2019ve ever shown how much Superman can do at once, using both priorities and logic. Excellent.\u201d Mood: Excitement<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAw, Come on! Atlas, Prometheus\u2019 brother, with the world on his shoulder!?!?\u201d Mood: Discontent.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWow, I love that Superman is completely respecting this man\u2019s heroism and strength. \u2018Do you got them?\u2019\u2014wow. And I love how it calls back to the first movie without being scared, but confident in his strength to hold his family. Awesome\u2014but, dude duh! \u2018Lois, isn\u2019t it weird that like we had our baby like 5 months early?\u2019\u2014unless that is she just ran off with this guy the minute Supe\u2019s left.\u201d Mood: Joy mixed with Respect and followed by Snide.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNice, Luther is doing some great bad guy stuff here.\u201d Mood: Pride (what the heck!??!) \u201cAnd here comes the shard\u2014piercing his side. How unexpected.\u201d Mood: Pity \u201cOh come on, Luthor\u2019s mocking him by doing a Christ pose! At what point will they start reading Isaiah 53!\u201d Mood: Discontent.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAnd now, there he goes\u2026the Son is rising again. Should I sing Up From the Grave He Arose? Nah, these 6 people will attack me.\u201d Mood: Discontent but Respect because \u201cit does look pretty cool.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOh come on, he\u2019s lifting the New Jerusalem up into the clouds and there\u2019s shards growing out by his hands?! No way they\u2019ll stigmata him\u2014if they do that\u2019s way too over the top with the references.\u201d Mood: Disgusted Annoyance.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI don\u2019t know if there were marks or not. Went too quick, but he is posed in a Dali-esque Crucifixion pose.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cLongest denouement since Lord of the Rings.\u201d Mood: Jabbaish.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGood, they didn\u2019t hook up. But at least we have a future Superboy. What is the deal with this repeated Father Son business? Okay, Clark\u2026you\u2019re not alone. Get over it.\u201d Mood: Mildly Happy.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe lights aren\u2019t coming back on. Is something else going to happen..?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe fools all left and the lights STILL aren\u2019t on. Man, I hope that something really does happen and it\u2019s not just that these country folk are too nice for their own good.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNothing happened. Ugh.\u201d Followed by \u201cI can\u2019t believe they turned on the light the second I was out the doors\u2014they were waiting for me!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWow, it\u2019s 12:53 AM. I\u2019m gonna\u2019 be tired tomorrow\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Overall impression: Decent movie, but not impressive. The Matrix did more stuff with Superman than this Superman movie did.
