I have managed to get an inside scoop via my deep connections in the industry. I don\u2019t want to divulge any information about my secret source, but he\u2019s definitely in the know. We\u2019ll just refer to his last name (Spielberg) to keep his identity secret.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Spielberg said that the actual title of the movie will be <em>Dark Blue<\/em> reflecting a bleak side to our little friends. Faced with the death of Smurfette and a civil war, the Smurfs must struggle with survival and ultimately destroy Gargamel\u2019s book. Spielberg mentioned that although the theme song \u201cLa La La La Laaa\u201d will be featured in the movie, it will be played in a minor key and likely rescored by Danny Elfman so that it rings true to the movie\u2019s darker tone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Apparently Gargamel kills Smurfette and turns her back to his side (again) by raising her from the dead as Undead Smurf.  They haven\u2019t decided if she\u2019ll be blond or brunette yet but there\u2019s talk that Bruckheimer wants her rotting and bald.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image102\" alt=\"gargamel.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rreynoso.com\/reysapoint\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/gargamel.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Also, he mentioned that Gargamel recruits some devious Smurfs from the other side of the Mushroom patch. One Gunner Smurf, another Violent Smurf and another Gangsta Smurf. They\u2019re still in the sketching stage for all of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image104\" alt=\"smurf_gangsta.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rreynoso.com\/reysapoint\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/07\/smurf_gangsta.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I also stumbled upon some potential movie art (still in sketch form as well) and heard that they\u2019re thinking of using the tagline \u201cThis Time They\u2019re Not Smurfin\u2019 Around\u201d. Sounds like a must see if they pull it off right.
